Description:
Urtext, single piano edition.
Published in September 1847 and dedicated to Countess Delphine Potocka. Contrary to what the title suggests, this waltz is not intended to be played in one minute. The piece is set at a fast tempo and is very lively. However, too much haste in the performance will definitely ruin this enchanting miniature. With the title "Minute Waltz", Chopin was probably describing the concept of "capturing the moment". Chopin dedicated this waltz in February 1848 to Countess Delphine Potocka (singing), at whose receptions he accompanied her on the piano.
