Description:
97 new spiritual songs, hymns, antiphons, and canons spanning the entire liturgical year, suitable for all liturgical occasions and covering many biblical themes—all of which have been tried and tested time and again in schools and church services.
The second volume of the songbook "ICH DU GOTT" contains another 97 new sacred songs, chants, antiphons, and canons spanning the liturgical year, for all liturgical occasions, and on many biblical themes—all of which have been tried and tested time and again in schools and worship services.
For easier navigation, this second volume also includes, in addition to the alphabetical table of contents, a subject index (page 4) that allows you to quickly find a song suitable for a particular theme. The songs from the first volume are also included here!
The chord symbols allow for free accompaniment on guitar or keyboard. However, written-out choral and/or accompaniment parts have also been published for many songs; these are referenced directly at the end of each song. The chord symbols include many so-called "slash chords," which indicate that a bass note other than the root note of the chord should be played (e.g., F/A = F major with A in the bass). This creates harmonically rich accompaniments. In most cases, this bass note can also be omitted if a simpler guitar accompaniment is desired.
It should also be noted that some pieces, when combined with "Hallelujah" calls from the *Gotteslob*, can form a "classic" pre-Gospel chant (Nos. 4, 8, 9, 20, 29, 32, 49, 52, 62). Suggestions for the "Gotteslob" Hallelujah call are listed with each hymn.
