Description:
Das hier erstmals als Stimmenausgabe vorgelegte Allegretto moderato D-Dur für Violine, Viola und Violoncello zählt zu den frühesten Arbeiten Tschaikowskys. Er schrieb es 1863/64 während seiner Studienzeit am St. Petersburger Konservatorium, nachdem er sich endgültig entschlossen hatte, seinen Beamtenberuf aufzugeben und Musiker zu werden. Über diese Entscheidung hatte er an seine Schwester Alexandra geschrieben: ' . . . und jetzt bin ich ganz entschieden zu der Überzeugung gekommen, dass ich früher oder später den Dienst gegen die Musik vertauschen werde. Denke nicht, dass ich mir einbilde, ein großer Künstler zu werden; ich muss einfach nur das tun, wozu meine Neigung mich drängt, ob ich nun ein berühmter Komponist oder ein armer Lehrer werde. . Ähnlich wie in den Partituren anderer Studienarbeiten (siehe auch Unbekannte Werke Nr.142: Frühe Streichquartettsätze 1863/64) finden sich auch hier bereits charakteristische Einzelheiten der Verarbeitung, die den späteren typischen Tschaikowsky- Stil ausmachen. Das Manuskript enthält keinerlei dynamische Bezeichnungen, ausgenommen das f in Takt 7. Alle übrigen diesbezüglichen Angaben sind Vorschläge des Herausgebers.
