Description:
The English Suite op. 31 is John Duarte’s best-known and most frequently performed work. Dedicated to Andrés Segovia and Emilia Magdalena Corral Sancho (known as Emilita) on the occasion of their marriage in 1962, this suite contains three mouvements (Prelude, Folk Song and Round Dance) and each one has two themes: one derived from English folklore and the other an original composition. Originally for guitar, this version has been arranged for string quartet by Roland Chadwick in 2024
