Description:
String Quartet No. 8 by James Dillon is a 19-minute work in three movements that are arranged symmetrically. Both outer movements unfold through episodic blocks of material with the central movement being slow and more homogenous in character. First performed by the Arditti String Quartet on 16 January 2018 as part of the Biennale de Quatuors à cordes in Paris, it was commissioned by ProQuartet and Philharmonie de Paris. This edition is part of the Peters Contemporary Chamber Series.
