Description:
With the "Two Quintet Fugues Op. 177/1+2", Carl Czerny impressively demonstrates his masterful command of complex fugal composition. Far from mere academic rigor, these works unfold a magnificent richness of sound that brings the string quintet—scored for two violins, two violas, and cello—into its absolute best light. The second viola lends the ensemble a distinctive warmth and polyphonic depth, allowing the artfully crafted lines to merge with transparency and expressive power. This carefully prepared edition by Amadeus includes the full score and complete set of parts—a rewarding and sonorous addition to the repertoire of any ambitious chamber ensemble.
