Description:
Olga Neuwirth's string quartet, written in 2009, is a homage to the American artist Henry Darger and his richly illustrated book manuscript of the same name, which was only discovered posthumously. Neuwirth binds this overabundance of ideas in short, contrasting sentences in which fragile textures overlap. Neuwirth's third exploration of the string quartet genre was premiered by the Arditti Quartet in Paris in 2010.
