Description:
A native of New Zealand, Arnold Trowell (1887-1966) came to Europe for his education, where he worked as a composer, musician, and educator until his death. He wrote his works primarily for strings and piano. Still widely used today are mostly his pedagogically motivated compositions, such as the etude collection Technology of Violoncello, 6 Morceaux op. 20, and the 12 morceaux faciles pour violoncelle op. 4.
Editor Beverley Ellis has selected the first six movements from opus 4 for this edition, and has supplemented them with playing technique notes and suggestions for working out and interpreting the pieces.
A wonderful addition to the beginner's repertoire!
This edition is part of the new Schott Student Edition series, which offers a wide variety of literature for instrumental lessons in difficulty levels 1 (easy) to 5 (difficult).
