Since their composition, Brahms’s Dances have circulated in countless arrangements for the most diverse instrumentations. Many cellists today do not consider Alfredo Piatti’s arrangement for violoncello and piano to be entirely successful. Therefore Jean-Guihen Queyras and his piano partner Alexandre Tharaud have prepared new arrangements of seven of the most popular dances.
