Tina Ternes was born in Kaiserslautern in 1969. She learned piano and later double bass and received lessons at the Kaiserslautern Music School. She studied school music and history in Mainz and film music at the Wiesbaden Music Academy. Ternes works as a composer and teacher and has lived in Frankenthal (Palatinate) since 2013. She writes orchestral and choral works, sacred music, chamber music and musicals. In 2009, she won 2nd prize with her violin duo "Windspiel" at the "Crossover Composition Award Mannheim", which was organized by the well-known violin duo "The Twiolins". In 2017, she won 1st prize with her brass quintet "Aufbruch" at the composition competition of Furore Verlag with the Center of Military Music of the German Armed Forces.
