Every month of the year has its own magic - and this is exactly what the cello calendar captures with twelve atmospheric ballads for cello and piano. Whether foggy November, blossoming May or sun-drenched July: composer Magdalena König draws musical snapshots of the changing seasons.
The pieces range from the 1st to the 4th position, with occasional excursions up to the flageolet. Those who are familiar with the 5th position can also use it. Fingerings and bowings are partly notated, many passages are deliberately left open - for individual creative freedom.
Each piece is accompanied by a colorful calendar page (illustration: Selina Peterson), and MP3 recordings (full version and playalong) are also available via a QR code.
