Oliver Ringleb's love of the cello began at the age of 17 when, as a young music student, he regularly performed with his band Supersonic at Konstantin Wecker's then legendary Kaffee Giesing. In addition to performances by cellist Anja Lechner at the Sunday classical music breakfast, the Modern String Quartet from Munich, whose cellist at the time, Jost Hecker, also inspired him with his expressive cello playing, was a regular guest there.
Oliver Ringleb fell in love with the warm, deep sound of this instrument, composed the first solo suite for cello in 2014 and had it premiered in the same year. It is dedicated to his mother Rita. This was followed in 2015 by Cello Suite II, in which he emotionally dealt with the death of his father.
Both cello suites are of medium difficulty.
