Description:
Commissioned in 2024 by the Beauvais International Cello Festival under the impetus of Emmanuelle Bertrand, this piece is premiered on June 1, 2024 during a concert-reading entitled "The songs of the earth and the living".
Élise Bertrand chooses to write an arched musical form to materialize the symbolism of the eternal rebirth of nature from season to season, but also of the mythical bird that is the phoenix, reborn from its own ashes. The Phoenix here in the feminine is also the symbolic relationship to the woman, to the performer and to the composer.
