Description:
While writing these pieces Friedmann Dreßler, cellist from Duisburg was enjoying himself. He had been bitten by the Wagner bug at the age of 14 and since then has been admiring Richard Wagner, the composer. Wagner's lyrics, however, sometimes left Dreßler with a funny feeling. This conflict is the basis of his humorous parodies on Wagner, meant to be played as polka, tango, waltz and scherzo. The individual pieces based on motifs of the Meistersinger, the Ring des Nibelungen and Tristan are preceded by the corresponding motifs - to everyone's orientation and delight.
