Pflichtstück beim Internationalen Bach-Wettbewerb Leipzig 2004 Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach war um 1750 einer der ersten deutschen Komponisten, der überhaupt Violoncellokonzerte schrieb. Umso respektabler ist, dass die zwei so innovativen Werke Wq 170 und 171 dann die Jahrhunderte schadlos überdauert haben. Heute wird insbesondere das 1750 komponierte a-moll-Konzert häufiger gespielt - im Mai 2004 stand das Werk (klavier-begleitet) als Pflichtstück beim Internationalen J. S. Bach-Wettbewerb in Leipzig im Mittelpunkt des Interesses. Für Ulrich Leisinger, Mitarbeiter am Leipziger Bach-Archiv, war dies Herausforderung und Anlass, bei seiner textkritischen Edition die Ausgabe für Violoncello und Klavier vorzuziehen.
