The Dittersdorf Concerto 'E major' is probably the most frequently performed and best-known work for double bass ever: musically delightful, full of technical and tonal finesse. It has rightly become an indispensable standard work for auditions and competitions. With our new edition, the concerto can be played in both E major and D major (two separate piano scores are included). In order to take into account the 'Viennese tuning' which was common at that time, we additionally present a solo part in fingering notation. This allows immediate playing in the sonorous historical tuning, without lengthy relearning. As an alternative to the traditional Sperger cadenzas, the editor Tobias Glöckler adds his own, well playable cadenzas with virtuosic demands to the edition.
