Description:
Double Jeu is a four-movement work inspired by the 4 suits of a card game: 1st diamonds, 2nd clubs, 3rd coeur, 4th spades. It was written for the double bass players Richard Dubugnon and Thierry Barbé (soloist in the Paris Opera Orchestra), who premiered it on December 16, 2005 at the Espace Cardin in Paris. The dramatic and expressive power of the double bass is fully exploited in these movements, which contrast in form and style.
