BATTLE is an original work by composer Louis Kroni, written for soloist with piano or brass band accompaniment. This intense and impressive piece explores the tensions and contrasts of an inner or outer battle - be it physical, emotional or symbolic. From the very first bars, the listener is drawn into a dramatic atmosphere, characterized by a concise rhythm and powerful harmonies. The solo voice, virtuosic and expressive, plays a central role: it alternately embodies doubt, rebellion, resistance and determination. The dialog with the accompaniment - be it simply on the piano or majestically with the brass band - lends the work a haunting narrative dimension. "BATTLE" is also a work of contrasts: lyrical passages and tense moments alternate and reflect the path of a character struggling with himself or with adversity. The composition, decidedly modern, nevertheless remains accessible and communicative and offers the performers a true field of expression. This work is aimed both at soloists in search of a challenge and at an audience that appreciates committed contemporary music. With "BATTLE", Louis Kroni has created an impressive work full of emotion and energy.
