This is a method composed between 2017 and 2024 for 4 violins (or 4 violas or 4 cellos) of progressive levels from the 1st to the 5th year for the violin and for the 1st and 2nd cycles for the viola and cello. This cycle features different types of instrumental playing (pizzicato, arco, col legno battuto, harmonics, etc.), enabling all these techniques to be mastered from an early age, while retaining a poetic and descriptive aspect of elements in nature: hence the title Journey ? One Day. For example: the 1st piece, Aurore, is an opportunity to work on the conduct of phrases between each of the instruments, the relay for each of them and expressivity. The 2nd piece, entitled Prairie, proposes the study of double strings from the first year, with open strings, then fingered strings for the other levels. The 3rd, Brise, is based on the difficulty of repetition, counting without getting lost, but also on string changes and the action of the 4th finger on the left hand for higher levels. The 4th, Pluie, introduces pizzicati and col legno battuto, as well as synchronizing delicate polyrhythms (eighth notes, triplets and sixteenth notes). The 5th and final piece, Nuit, is essentially devoted to harmonic work: first natural for the lower levels, then fingered for the higher levels. This work was produced in consultation with Alice Durand-Lecomte for violin, Noémie Airiau-Gauguier for viola and Marina Nguyen-The for cello, who commissioned and dedicated the work. With 4 levels in the 5 movements, this cycle allows you to work on 20 pieces from the 1st to the 8th year of the instrument, and can also be practiced as chamber music in a variety of combinations: you can also create cross-disciplinary formations between the different instruments (for example, in the traditional form of the string quartet).
