Description:
The predominantly lyrical character of the Violin Sonata in G prompted Thomas Riebl, professor at the Salzberg Mozarteum, to assign the solo part to the viola, creating a welcome addition to the repertoire. In particular the many passages in the lower register gain a delightful new sonority through the mellow tones of the viola.
