Description:
Our new edition of the Six Variations in G minor, K. 360 (374b) for violin and piano, was based on Mozart's autograph. These variations on the French. Lied "Hélas, j'ai perdu mon amant" are the only composition for violin written by Mozart in a minor key, along with his Sonata in E minor KV 304 (300c), which has already been published by Edition Butolac. The theme is introduced by the piano, in the sixth and last variation it is in the violin, a coda is missing. All in all, the variations are a welcome enrichment of the violin repertoire apart from the well-known and much-played sonatas and concertos. The piano fingering is by the editor Heiko Stralendorff, the bowing and fingering of the violin part by Tomislav Butorac.
