Both instruments involved alternate in the leading voice and accompanying function with roughly the same level of difficulty. In addition, the different playing techniques on the string instrument as well as on the piano, changing tempi, time signatures, articulations and dynamics give each variation its very own character. In this way, creative and expressive skills and the joy of playing chamber music together are developed and encouraged from the very first years of lessons.
