As with the four Miniature Concertinos op. 94 bis op. 97 are also our current new editions of the Concertino in G minor op. 11 and the Concertinos No. 6 op. 43, No. 7 op. 44 and No. 8 op. 45 are all designed for the first – third positions and can thus enrich the repertoire of all those students who can already move confidently in these positions. The study of Portnoff's works in general will be of great benefit to the student in many respects, bowing technique and fluency will be developed in equal measure in a musically varied form. The final movement often appears – as in the Concertino op. 11 – "virtuoso" folkloric, which also makes these pieces extremely attractive for performance.
