Description:
Hans Millies (1883-1957) was a well-known German violinist and lecturer who believed that students should be introduced to the sound idiom of great composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart from an early age. In this simple concertino, Millies subtly introduces us to the ingenious musical structures of the master composer. The music is playable in the first position; a main focus is on phrasing and bowing techniques. Thanks to the delightful piano accompaniments, this piece is made for auditions. A recording of the piano accompaniment is available online in MP3 format.
