Description:
Oskar Rieding's Concertino op. 21 moves exclusively in the 1st and 3rd positions. Hungarian echoes in the Andante sostenuto on the high and low strings of the violin and rich chains of semiquavers in the Allegro moderato demand a basic fluency from the student's left hand, combined with accentuated bow entries in the right hand.
The edition includes the concertante violin part and a piano reduction for the accompanying pianist.
The editor is Kurt Sassmannshaus, the internationally renowned violin teacher and innovator of the Sassmannshaus violin school tradition. His foreword introduces this small work of art.
