Georg Philipp Telemann knew better than almost any other composer how to adapt his works to the wishes of the musicians. He also considered unusual instrumentation, such as in this concerto for four violins without basso continuo, in his compositions - probably for specific occasions and at the suggestion of musicians he knew. This concerto is an original polyphonic work full of unusual sound angles.
