Description:
Oskar Rieding (1846-1916) is known to all young violinists for his easily playable concerti for violin and piano. Of these, the works op. 34 to op. 36 are all in the first position. Paired with catchy melodies, initial difficulties such as quaver arpeggios, sixteenth-note runs or chromatic elements are well distributed throughout the work.
The Concerto in D lasts just under 10 minutes and is well suited for a student audition.
