Description:
Dvorak composed his Op. 75a, Miniatures after his Terzetto Op. 74 while living at his mother-in-law's house where another room was rented to an amateur violinist, Josef Kruis. Dvorak often heard Kruis playing duets with his teacher and decided to write a trio to join them. This is where Dvorak got the idea of writing for two violins and viola. Movements are: I. Cavatina, II. Capriccio, III. Romanza and IV. Elegia. Gavota is included in this set for three violins.
