Für jede Sonate dieses Zyklus, der auch unter dem Namen 'Rosenkranz-Sonaten' bekannt ist, bildet eines der Rosenkranzgeheimisse das Motto. Als Besonderheit gilt, dass für jedes Stück die Violine anders gestimmt werden muss. ?hnlich konsequent wie Biber hat kein Komponist nach und schon gar nicht vor ihm die Technik der Skordatur angewandt. Die Ausgabe enthält sowohl den originalen Notentext als auch eine Übertragung in die heutige Notation und gibt die originalen Kupferstiche wieder.
