Description:
Today, Edward Elgar is mainly known as composer, but apart from this work he also gave violin lessons. This edition contains six short studies by Edward Elgar, all ascending in difficulty and didactically valuable.
They can be played in the first position, but require the knowledge of all fingering patterns. The compositions are set in C major, A minor and G major with occasional alterations. They are ideal practice-pieces to train confident reading and playing in various (and often neglected) fingering patterns. At the same time, they promote the understanding of different metres and characters.
This edition is part of the new Schott Student Edition series which offers varied literature at five different levels of difficulty, from 1 (easy) to 5 (difficult), for instrumental lessons.
