December 27, 2012 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Kassel composer Luise Greger, around 1930 "Germany's most important contemporary lyrical tone poet". Luise Greger's compositional oeuvre comprises around 250 individual works, including over 100 songs. In almost all concert halls in Germany, her songs were once part of the regular repertoire of important performers.

"Most readers will be unfamiliar with the North German composer Luise Greger (1862-1944). However, she wrote over 100 songs and two operas. Furore Verlag, which only publishes works by female composers, has now brought out an edition of 9 songs for baritone ("as-ges", optionally "a") and piano. They are written in a late romantic idiom, sometimes reminiscent of Brahms and Grieg. The attractive piano accompaniments are very visual and expressive with beautiful harmonic turns. The voice is melodically less strong, but leaves plenty of room for the text." Vrienden van het Lied, June 2013
