Description:
Body of Water, for tenor, voices, brass and organ (2012) by Julian Philips. The piece tells of a lone swimmer, as he progresses through a treacherous journey. It is based on the experiences of Charles Cochrane's heroic swim across the Dardanelles. Immersion, rhythm, sensuality, and abstraction stream through the swimmer's unfocused mind.
