Art songs based on poems by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and early art songs.
Edition Stiftung International is dedicated to the rediscovery of high-quality chamber music from the 18th and 19th centuries that has remained hidden in archives and previously unpublished. The editions combine scholarly rigor with the demands of modern performance practice and are published as Urtext editions, in which the editor’s additions are always clearly marked and documented in the critical report. In addition to the full score and individual parts, each volume contains an informative preface as well as biographical sketches of the composer. This continuously growing series is based on an initiative by the foundation’s founder, Erich Fischer, who established the promotion of neglected masterpieces as a core objective of the International Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and Civilization, with the aim of making these treasures permanently accessible to the musical world once again.
