Description:
My Tango, 'Creature of the Night' can be traced back to the 1990s to a project that I intended to work on together with the Australian author, Marsha Berry. She sent me her libretto for 'Vampires in the Kitchen', but nothing ever came of the project.
Idea: Several night shift workers from all parts of society meet in a kitchen and talk about their lives. It turns out that they all like working the night shift because they are vampires. An old prostitute also tells her story. I dug out my old composition notes for the original project and made a very free translation of the original text of this one song into German. This is all that remains of the original project: the sad song of a lost old whore who lives off the blood of others and can never see the light of day again.
