Description:
One of the few sacred vocal works by the English Romantic composer Kitson is the Mass in d for two sopranos presented here, the second of which is predominantly in the mezzo register. The elegantly dignified work is one of the few Latin Ordinary Masses composed in England before the Second World War. Both vocal parts are equally and independently conducted and, together with the organ accompaniment, create an expressive movement in the sound of (early) Romanticism. A rewarding addition to the repertoire, which is also possible and worthwhile in choral interpretation.
