Description:
The Pastoral Mass op. 24 was first published on 24 . It was performed in Augsburg in December 1851 and has since become an integral part of Christmas church music in Bavaria. In addition to this mass, Kempter composed numerous other works, including a Latin Mass op. 15 and a Te Deum op. 42. The fusion of classical compositional technique with elements of folk music gives his compositions a special charm.
