Description:
Single edition from "Rigoletto" - newly engraved & corrected
Version: first edition - G. Ricordi & C., Milano.
Ballad of the Duke.
The edition In the series "newly engraved & corrected" the opera "Rigoletto" was published as a revised new edition in the version of the first edition by the original publisher G. Ricordi. The newly set musical text in score, individual parts and piano reduction is reproduced unchanged, but with the necessary corrections and adjustments based on critical analysis and comparison with other sources. Material Selected arias, duets and ensembles from the opera are now available separately as individual titles - the score for sale and the performance material on loan. The music pages for the individual titles have been taken from the score, the orchestral parts and the piano reduction of the revised new edition. Page numbers, study figures, bar numbers and the layout have thus been adopted unchanged in the single-title edition and are congruent with the material of the entire stage work. The material is characterized by the good legibility of the musical text and by the - without exception - included turnarounds in the orchestral parts. The quality of the high-quality musical notation is based on the publisher's guidelines based on the standards of scholarly complete editions. On the publication of the stage work The greatest difficulty for the new edition was the preparation of the correct musical text for the vocal parts. There are an extraordinary number of discrepancies of all kinds between the score and the piano reduction published by Ricordi, affecting articulation and phrasing as well as dynamics and notes. They have been standardized in the new edition. To clarify the textual differences between the score and the piano reduction, the libretto served as a further model. About the versions This new edition contains the version of the first printed edition by the original publisher G. Ricordi. The order of the musical text of the new edition corresponds to the order of the Ricordi score. Study figures were only printed in the Ricordi score but not in the Ricordi piano score. As stipulated in the guidelines of the "newly engraved & corrected" series, the numbering of the individual numbers and the study figures from the Ricordi score have been adopted in the new edition - score, orchestral parts and piano reduction - for easier comparison with existing Ricordi materials.
