Traditional Jewish art with its many folk elements is a permanent fixture in our cultural life today. In recent years klezmer music has achieved special popularity. It is not widely known, however, that besides this purely instrumental style there also exists an independent vocal form of traditional Jewish music: the songs of the Sephardic Jews.
