Description:
Having written some five books of songs containing usually just around six in each, I felt it was about time to move up and produce a large cycle to be played in one go (rather than a book for selection) - my model for this being Schubert's Winterreise.
This words - all written by myself - address the navigation of one’s internal world in the face of external change, by focussing on powerful moments, e.g. "A bud, before exploded scent" - "How it feels at dawn, to see your door" - "Sound the string, release the light".
If you stop and look you can put into perspective what seems to be a frenetic external world and enables you to cope by stepping outside it for a moment.
