Description:
Three Sketches for Brass Quintet was composed in 2007 and later revised in 2016. The piece consists of three contrasting movements, each with its own distinctive character. Each movement began as a series of short sketches in my notebook. As I was working on material for a brass quintet, I realized that these sketches could easily be expanded into a full composition. Although the piece is conceived as a multi-movement work, the movements can also be performed individually if desired.
