Description:
The Italian composer Giovanni Gastolfi (1550-1622), who wrote secular madrigals as well as works of church music, has gained international recognition especially for his so-called 'Balletti(dance songs). In the 'Partita dialogata(Dialogue between brass and organ positive / harpsichord) Herbert Paulmichl has adapted a 'TanzliedGastoldis in the translation of Peter Cornelius 'An hellen Tagen to a variation work. The piece is especially recommended for young ensembles. If a mixed choir (SATB) 'sings' the 'Tanzlied', (which is recommended) the 1st stanza should be sung at the beginning of the partita, the 2nd stanza after No. 4, the 3rd stanza after No. 8. For a sacred concert the Hcor can sing the text 'In dir ist Freudezum the same movement.
