Description:
2 trumpets, 2 trombones (alternative parts: trumpet in Bb and C, horn in F and Eb, baritone Bb, trombone, euphonium in Bb)
The composer, organist and theoretician Michael Praetorius (c. 1572-1631) left behind him a large and varied body of work. He provided an important stimulus to protestant church music.
All that remains of his secular works is a collection of French dances entitled 'Terpsichore' (1612), from which our suites are drawn.
