Description:
Chants and Flourishes for double brass quintet was commissioned to mark the American Brass Quintet’s fiftieth anniversary. The work continues my ongoing collaboration with the ABQ, which began in 1986 with "Morning Music." I have been and remain a staunch supporter of the ABQ’s work, which ensures the continued existence of the brass quintet as a serious chamber music genre through the commissioning, performance, and recording of new works. It was an honor for me to be able to contribute to this endeavor.
