Description:
This piece is mainly played in churches, often as opening or closing music, sometimes as an encore.
Christian Kornmaul, state trombone warden in northern Germany, once announced the composition in a church concert as follows: "Take: 250ml Tomorrow Santa Claus will come, 200ml Come Shepherds, add - every year again - a pinch of Silent Night, stir gently with a pinch of snowflakes, white skirts, daughter Zion, I stand at your crib here and you little children come. Then pour 20ml at the top and praise the Lord over it. Finally, give a hefty portion of Praise God you Christians and garnish the whole thing with some dust from the star over Bethlehem. This is the recipe for the Christmas cocktail by Jürgen Pfiester. Hear for yourself whether we have forgotten an ingredient and whether you like the cocktail."
