Description:
'Diversions' was composed for the European Brassband Festival in Rotterdam in 1995. It is scored for 4 trumpets, 4 french horns, 3 trombones, euphoni-um, tuba, timpani and percussion. The work consists of 7 very contrasting parts, played without any interruption. In the first part (fanfare like) and in the second part (rather melodious) the thematic material on which the composition is based is presented. The different parts are: Poco maestoso (con passione), Tempo tranquillo, Scherzando (vivace), Molto moderato, Allegro, Adagio, Come primo (coda).
