Description:
Premiered by the Eastern Virginia Brass in April 2014 at the Virginia Arts Festival; Ghosts in Grey and Blue is a deep consideration of the cost of the Civil War 150 years before. Hornist Marlene Ford confessed; 'Every time we went from the Fanfare movement to the Epilogue; I was tearful. I don't know why but I felt such sadness that I am glad my notes weren't difficult so I could just sit with the feeling.' (John Campbell; Artsong Update)
