The "Miniatures" series ranges from short pieces for solo instruments with piano accompaniment to compositions for mixed chamber music ensembles.
The miniature no. 50 "Goldene Zeiten" was commissioned on the occasion of the golden wedding anniversary of Josefa and Ernst Gritzner, which is why the wedding march from Wagner's "Lohengrin" is briefly quoted at the end. The piece is therefore perfect for wedding anniversaries.
The instrumentation:
1st flugelhorn in Bb, 2nd flugelhorn in Bb, euphonium in Bb (+C part), tuba in C (+Bb part), (opt. horn instead of euphonium)
