The Jubilee Fanfare I, II and III by Jean-François Michel are based on the same musical material, adapted to three different instrumentations: Jubilee Fanfare I for brass quintet: 2 trumpets (C or Bb), horn in F*, trombone* and tuba* (BIM ENS219). Jubilee Fanfare II for symphonic brass ensemble (4 trumpets in C or Bb, 4 horns in F, 4 trombones and tuba), timpani and 3 percussions (BIM ENS220). Jubilee Fanfare III for brass septet (2 trumpets in C or Bb, 2 horns in F*, 2 trombones* and a bass trombone*), timpani and one percussion (BIM ENS221). As the three titles suggest, these three versions play ceremonial roles for which Jean-François Michel has created a solemn and spectacular sound substance. * Alternative parts available on request.
