Macht hoch die Tür´, die Tor´ macht weit is a hymn written in East Prussia in the 17th century. It is one of the best-known and most popular Advent songs and was also translated into other languages, for example in 1853 by Catherine Winkworth into English under the title Lift up your heads, ye mighty gates. Low Brass is my favorite line-up in this arrangement. The first verse belongs to the tubas.
