Description:
Classical four-part setting, somewhat more modern in the second part.
Instrumentation: brass quartet tp-tp-hn/tb-tb
Heiko Quistorf recently created several arrangements of well-known Christmas carols for four brass instruments, always giving the carols a new guise. One of them is "O Little Town Of Bethlehem", which is very popular in the USA. An arrangement for saxophone quartet was also derived from this, which is compatible with the present edition for brass quartet.
After the introduction, the trombone (alternatively also French horn) first presents the theme and thus dominates within the four-part movement. As the movement progresses, the voices alternate with the lead. Part C is heightened by the change of key, and from here onwards the four-part movement appears in a slightly more modern guise. The arrangement is catchy and beautifully set. With good intonation, it should not cause any major problems. In addition to the transposed version, the trumpet parts and the entire score are also available in sound.
